Description
Early Mughal Period Antique Indian Exquisite Betel Nut Box decorated with engraved patterning. The Lid is surrounded by a tall peacock figure banded round by beautifully rendered floral leaves. The box does have minor scratches, however, it is in excellent condition for its age. An exquisite box set exhibits the strong architectural quality of the Mughal period. The well-used, ingredient-induced rich patina on the exterior of the box is quite lovely. Thus, not only is this piece artistically beautiful but it has been long appreciated as well.
